TIBCO has added business intelligence to business process management, enabling business users to create personalized process reports and modify processes in the context of business operations.

The new capabilities is part of TIBCO's new iProcess Spotfire product, made generally available last week. The idea behind the software is to provide a BI layer over TIBCO's BPM software to make it possible for business users to monitor and continuously improve processes.

IProcess Spotfire is targeted at all business professionals. The software provides personalized process reporting and analytics the replaces static dashboards with customized templates to display data tailored for each user.

In addition, users can extract process performance data generated by BPM software and combine it with data from other applications, according to TIBCO. Also, instead of relying on IT to create custom reports, users can customize their own and analyze metrics themselves.

IProcess Spotfire is an add-on to TIBCO's BPM offering, Business Studio. An upgrade of the latter software, version 3.2, was released at the same time as iProcess Spotfire.

New features in Business Studio allow users to visually defined their organization's structure and the relationship between the different components.

The latest products followed about six weeks after Tibco released an upgrade of its master data management platform. Enhancements added to Collaboration Information Manager version 7.2.1 included the integration ofNetrics' mathematical algorithmic-based matching engine, which improved the finding of duplicate records in very large data sets.
