If you're a Visual Sciences customer (i.e., HBX and Visual Site analytics, Publish CMS, or the former Atomz Search), you'd have to be a bit concerned by last week's report that the company is actively considering "unsolicited inquiries" to be acquired.
A press release indicates the company has hired Goldman Sachs as a financial adviser to assess potential deals, followed by the assurance from CEO Jim MacIntyre, "Meanwhile, we will continue to focus on building our business."This came attached to a Q2 financial report in which the company's earnings failed to meet its earlier guidance, despite top-line revenue growth. The company's recent emphasis on analytics and lingering WebSideStory branding on some older products leaves open the possibility that it may sell off only some of its products (but here I'm just speculating).
