A Mac enthusiast Web site has pointed out and detailed a recent patent that appears to be a "stealth" patent by Apple for an iPod video smartphone that does it all: cell phone calls, wireless videoconferencing, wireless P2P networking, video playing, picture taking and much more. It even sports the famous round Apple Click Wheel on the front. The trouble is, the patent wasn't (ostensibly) filed by Apple. It just may be, however, that Apple filed it under another name to keep secret its product intentions.

If this is what it appears to be -- an Apple iPod cell phone -- it could be the Mother of All convergence gadgets -- one gadget to rule them all.
