Here's the correct way to restart, whether after a crash or OS update.
1 Min Read
If you own a Windows Home Server (WHS) system, there will be times when you need to restart the server. Whether it's an OS update or it freezes unexpectedly, it's best to restart it properly, not haphazardly.
First, open the WHS Console installed on a client computer. Click on Settings. On the WHS settings screen that pops up, click Shut Down.
Click the Restart button.
Don't be alarmed when you lose your connection during the WHS reboot. It will load back up.
Log back into the WHS console when the process is complete and you'll be all set.
Now you know the officially-sanctioned way to restart WHS.
