BellSouth Offers "Simple" Pricing For DSL
BellSouth announces a single price for its DSL offerings, promising no more confusing short-term introductory pricing or shipping, handling, and activation fees.
BellSouth on Tuesday announced a single price for its DSL offerings, promising no more confusing short-term introductory pricing or shipping, handling and activation fees for DSL.
The former Baby Bell said it believes the simple approach will appeal more to its customers than multi-tiered introductory promotions. “BellSouth believes that, for many people, simplicity and convenience are essential when choosing a high-speed Internet service,” said Keith Cowan, BellSouth's president of marketing and product management, in a statement.
BellSouth’s FastAccess DSL Lite, with 256Kbps downstream speeds, is offered at $24.95 a month while its FastAccess DSL Ultra is available for a $32.95 monthly charge. DSL Ultra features speeds up to 1.5Mbps. The firm’s highest speed 3Mbps FastAccess DSL Xtreme service is $42.95 per month.
Most firms marketing broadband DSL and cable modem service offer the service with short-term introductory offers.
