Blinkx on Monday launched a service that lets people store video blogs at no charge and save them as a channel that can be updated regularly.

My Blinkx.tv will stream video blogs online, or allow them to be downloaded to the desktop or a portable media player.

The video search engine will convert uploaded content into Flash, create an audio transcript and index the file, officials with the San Francisco company said. The video clip will then become part of Blinkx's library.

Blinkx hopes to expand the service with a version for commercial content providers.
