CA has named James Bryant its new executive vice president and chief administrative officer.
Bryant arrived June 29 and will report directly to John Swainson, president and CEO of CA, Islandia, N.Y., the vendor said. His duties will be to oversee CA's technology, facilities, administration, and corporate transformation and planning operations, CA said. "He will concentrate on ensuring that CA's transformation efforts stay on track and that the company's infrastructure and business processes fully support our strategic objectives," said Swainson in a statement. Bryant arrives from Boston-based venture capital group Common Angels, and prior to that was vice president in charge of finance and administrative operations at IBM, according to CA. Lotus, Tivoli and Informix were each IBM acquisitions Bryant had a hand in managing, CA said. CA announced the arrival of Bryant the same day it revealed problems with stock option grants and subscription revenue accounting--issues that have prompted the vendor to delay filing its complete fourth-quarter and full-year fiscal 2006 results for the second time.
