Remote communication specialist Citrix Online has introduced GoToTraining, an easy-to-use solution for SMBs to conduct online, interactive remote training.Citrix Online, a division of Citrix Systems, is known for its GoToMeeting, GoToMyPC, and other online communication and remote access tools. Now the company has added GoToTraining, a package of tool for delivering interactive training sessions over the Web. "Our customers have been using GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar for training," according to GoToTraining product manager Beth Gilbert. But the company saw a demand for a purpose-built training solution.

GoToTraining provides such training-oriented features as the ability to set up an online catalog of sessions and courses and to upload course materials. Instructors can administer tests during a training session and solicit evaluations of the courses. They can also record training sessions for later, on-demand access.

Citrix Online recently commissioned a survey by Kelton Research and found that 89% of SMB decision makers would rather spend more money on training than on travel this year. Using GoToMeeting enables companies to reduce the amount of travel their training providers need to do and to easily offer training to a distributed workforce, no matter where they're located. It can also increase the pool of trainers a company can access, since they don't need to be physically present at the company's offices.

GoToTraining is priced according to the number of attendees per training session, with no limit on the number of sessions. Accommodating up to 25 trainees per session costs $149/month or $1,428/year; $349/month or $3,348/year gives the ability to acccommodate up to 200 trainees per session. Both plans include GoToMeeting (ordinarily $49/month for up to 15 attendees) and allow audio conferencing via VoIP or regular phone. There's a 30-day free trial available; find out more here.
