CSC Czechs In To Prague
Computer Sciences Corp., the nation's third-largest outsourcer, is opening a new service center in the Czech Republic to provide services primarily to customers in Western Europe.
Computer Sciences Corp., the nation's third-largest outsourcer, said Wednesday that it has opened a new service center in the Czech Republic.
The facility, located in Prague, will provide outsourced computer services primarily to CSC customers in Western Europe, the company said. It will focus on application development, help desk support, and systems monitoring and maintenance. The facility also will provide multi-lingual services to European customers, CSC said.
Indian outsourcers also are targeting Eastern Europe as they look to expand beyond their traditional, U.S. customer base. Last week, TCS said it would double its non-India staff over the next three years, with much of that growth coming in Eastern Europe. Salaries for programmers in the region typically fall somewhere between those paid in the U.S. and wages in India.
Last week, CSC posted second quarter revenue of $3.61 billion, flat from the previous year. The company also said it would delay filing its full quarterly report until the completion of an internal probe into its stock option practices.
