Fujitsu Unveils Two New Primergy Servers
They include a rack and tower server built on 64-bit Xeon processors.
Fujitsu Computer Systems is expanding its Primergy server family with the RX600 S2 rack server and the TX600 S2 server. Both products are built on Intel s 64-bit Xeon processors.
Both systems offer a hot plug function on their memory boards, permitting on-the-fly memory swapping and upgrades. Fujitsu said each model is a four-way system suitable for high-end database and clustered applications.
Noting that both systems advanced memory capabilities feature patrol scrubbing with ECC and Chipkill, Fujitsu said memory mirroring techniques can split memory into two identical images to help provide higher system reliability.
The two models are nearly identical, although the TX600 is offered also as a tower server, and can be converted to a 6U rack server. Both are available now at prices starting below $8,000.
