Google To Offer Katie Couric News Feeds
Headlines, top stories, a calendar of events, and Couric's daily blog are available through a module jointly developed by Google and CBS.
Google on Thursday started offering news feeds from the CBS Evening News With Katie Couric to users of the search engine's personalized homepages.
The content, which includes headlines, top stories, a calendar of events and Couric's daily blog, is available through a module jointly developed by Google and CBS. Users have the option of adding the mini-application to their homepage.
As part of the deal, CBSNews.com and Google have agreed to promote the new feature on each other's sites. Couric made her debut as CBS news anchor on Tuesday.
The agreement is the second this week that involves CBS trying to generate buzz for a new show. The TV network plans to show the debut of its new fall program "The Class" to subscribers of TiVo's TV service and broadband-enabled digital video recorder. TiVo, which has 4.4 million subscribers, plans to show the program that week before its Sept. 18 network premiere.
