Google on Tuesday launched a beefier version of its search appliance for medium and large businesses.
The new hardware offers increased search capacity of up to 30 million documents, as well as new search functions and administrative support for 16 languages. The appliance is capable of searching information stored in many business applications, including those from Cognos, Oracle, SAS, and Salesforce.com.
New features include the ability to restrict search results to a range of dates, or for a specific number range, such as between $100 and $500.
Google, which introduced search appliances in 2002, also offers a mini version for searching up to 300,000 documents. Pricing for the medium and large business versions starts at $30,000 for searching 500,000 documents.
