Infor Acquires Barcode Data Collection Firm
Bridgelogix bolsters ERP vendor's shop floor control and warehouse management capabilities.
Infor, the ERP vendor specializing in systems for midsized companies, today announced the purchase of Bridgelogix, a partner that provides barcode data collection technologies for warehouse-management, inventory-control and asset-management applications.
The terms of the acquisition of Bridgelogix, a private company based in Tulsa, Okla., were not disclosed. The company's barcode scanning systems are already integrated with Infor's warehouse management systems as part of a long-term partnership agreement. The ERP vendor says it plans additional integrations and product enhancements following the purchase, which was finalized today.
A proven, low-cost technology, barcode scanning is a good fit with Infor's enterprise asset management (EAM) software, a growing adjacent market for the company. Manufacturers, distributors, and services organizations use EAM to track equipment, maintenance activities, staff productivity and warranty-related claims.
Bridgelogix currently offers shop-floor-control, warehouse-management, Lean-manufacturing, and time-and-attendance systems. The company is said to have more than 350 customers and 900 installations in 43 countries.
Infor has acquired more than 20 application vendors over the last decade including Baan, GEAC Systems, Epiphany and Extensity. The company has more than 70,000 customers, with three quarters being midsize companies with between $50 million and $1 billion in revenue.
