Intellisync today announced the launch of Intellisync Wireless Email Express, a new hosted service that enables wireless push e-mail with the same enterprise-class security and features found in the company's Mobile Suite product. Intellisync Express is a hosted service that is sold as a subscription through distributors, resellers and directly by Intellisync.

The new service is being offered at an introductory rate of $120 per year. Anyone with a data plan from a carrier and a data-enabled mobile device can subscribe and receive push wireless e-mail. The company claims it takes less than 30 minutes to set up, and that no IT expertise is required to install and maintain the service. All aspects of the wireless e-mail service are managed by Intellisync at their hosting facility in the United States.

Intellisync believes that Wireless Email Express provides all mobile users, ranging from enterprise departments and workgroups to SMB's, with an alternative to the IT resource-intensive e-mail solutions offered by its competitors.

"Most wireless applications offered by private e-mail companies are difficult to install and require technical expertise to maintain," said a company spokesperson, "but Wireless Email Express is of the fastest and simplest ways to "have a BlackBerry-like experience for wireless e-mail on virtually any data-enabled mobile device."

The features of the new product are said by the company to be "Blackberry-like" and include:

  • Wireless push e-mail and PIM synchronization, including inboxes, calendars, contacts, tasks and notes.

Minimal IT department involvement or expertise. Reliable and secure network operations, with 24x7 support staff in place. Broad device support, enabling customers to use their existing equipment.

"Our experience shows that mobile users are preferring devices other than BlackBerries in increasing numbers, and they are asking for a faster, simpler way to get started with wireless e-mail," explained Bill Jones, head of mobile products for Intellisync, adding, "we've answered their call with Intellisync Wireless Email Express."

Several major distributors of mobile software and services have already included the new Intellisync offer in their portfolios. The new Intellisync Wireless Email Express product is available now through Ingram Micro, Global Wireless Data, and Trio Tek, through their reseller networks.
