JBoss said Thursday it acquired its leading German systems integrator and services partner, Objectone. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal gives open-source middleware maker JBoss a new German subsidiary, JBoss Deutschland, built around Objectone's operations in Berlin. Objectone founder Tobias Hartwig will stay on as managing director of JBoss Deutschland. JBoss celebrated the union by launching a new German-language Web site, at http://de.jboss.com. Objectone was Atlanta-based JBoss's most successful partner in Germany, JBoss CEO Marc Fleury said in a statement. Fleury and other JBoss executives were not available Thursday for further comment. Privately held JBoss does not disclose its revenue or customer base. The company recently held its first annual European user conference, JBoss World Barcelona, and has been working to build out its partner programs in the region. JBoss's acquisition deal is a turnabout for the company, which is itself being closely watched as a potential takeover target. A rumored buyout by Oracle has yet to materialize, leaving the industry buzzing about JBoss's fate.
