If you're a new Mac user, harness the power of OS X's keyboard shortcuts by using the [Command] key along with the [X], [C], or [V] for cutting, copying and pasting. Here's how.
To copy, select the text or object you want to copy then hold down [Command] and hit [C].
To cut, select the text or object you want to cut then hold down [Command] and hit [X].
To paste after copying or cutting, place the cursor where you want the copied or cut text or object to appear, hold down [Command] and hit [V]. If you want the pasted item to take on the formatting of its new surroundings, hold down [Shift][Option][Command] before hitting [V].
This works in native Mac applications.
