Lenovo Introduces ThinkCentres Aimed At SMBs

Lenovo has announced new entries in its ThinkCentre line of desktop PCs. The low-cost A63 is pitched directly to SMBs, while the M90s, while still moderately priced, are intended for larger organizations.The ThinkCentre A63, dubbed by Lenovo "an essential desk side companion for small-to-medium businesses," will be available later this month for as little as $329. For that, you get an AMD Sempron processor, comparable to an Intel Celeron. But the A63 will also be available with higher-end Athlon II, a multi-core chip comparable to the Intel Core 2 Duo; or a Phenom II X4 processor, comparable to an Intel Core 2 Quad. The system supports two independent displays and can be ordered with a high-resolution webcam and preloaded Skype for VOIP communications.

The ThinkCentre M90 and M90p, on the other hand, are intended for large enterprises but also midmarket businesses, according to Lenovo. They will be available in February starting at $770 for the M90 and $899 for the M90p. They both use the new Intel i5 and i7 vPro processors and support several remote monitoring and administration tools. Interestingly, they will be available not only as standard towers but also in small and ultra-small cases.

Both the A63 and the M90s support Lenovo's ThinkVantage Toolbox, a diagnostic and repair tool that monitors system compnents and suggests solutions to imminent problems. They also feature Lenovo's new Enhanced Experience for Windows 7, which are optimized to start up and shut down significantly faster than standard Windows systems.

The new ThinkCentre PCs will be available through the Lenovo website and through business partners.
