PeopleSoft Inc. expanded its customer-relationship management suite Friday when it acquired the technology and assets of Annuncio Software Inc., a maker of online personalization software.

Annuncio's software will provide PeopleSoft CRM customers with online personalized marketing campaigns. The Annuncio functionality sends personalized advertisements to customers through E-mail, Web links, banner ads, and direct mail. Online tools will let users query customers using online surveys as well as create subsequent targeted follow-up marketing campaigns.

Businesses will also be able to combine product data stored in PeopleSoft applications with customer data in other CRM apps to create customized Web pages that feature targeted products and services.

The acquisition is subject to the approval of Annuncio's stockholders. Stockholders of Annuncio stockholders who hold enough shares to approve the acquisition have already agreed to vote in favor of the acquisition, according to PeopleSoft. The merger is expected to be completed at the end of the first quarter. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
