Salesforce has been an avid supporter of the Apple Watch since it was unveiled earlier this year. The software company was one of the first to develop an app for Apple's wearable before it was released to the public.
Its commitment to the wearable market indicates Salesforce is heavily investing in Apple Watch and other wearable devices as platforms for delivering data, analytics, and other services to modern enterprise customers.
The Salesforce Wear Developer Kit, a collection of open source starter apps, enables developers to create apps on the Salesforce1 platform for a range of wearable devices like Apple Watch, Android Wear, and Google Glass.

"We need more use cases, we need more apps," said head of Salesforce Wear Lindsey Irvine at an Aug. 11 event, as reported by Forbes. Irvine explained how wearable apps are key to making wearables mainstream and to transforming them into business tools.
Wearable app Analytics Cloud, for example, serves up dashboards and graphs depicting relevant data on the Watch's tiny face. Wearers can use Voice Search to surface specific reports.
Salesforce continued to show support for enterprise wearables at an Aug. 11 event, during which it announced twenty new Apple Watch apps developed by company partners on the Salesforce1 platform. The apps are designed to help mobile workers perform a range of business tasks -- from viewing customer profiles to tracking team productivity.
The partner companies involved include BetterWorks, Alpine Metrics, CloudSense, Apttus, Bracket Labs, Fairsnail, Click Software, Footprints, InsideSales, Financial Force, Heywire, New Voice Media, RemedyForce, Point of Reference, Sage, Skedulo, Proximity Insights, ServiceMax, Vlocity, and Team Spirit.
Let's take a closer look at a few of these apps and how they might benefit enterprise users:
BetterWorks Wear
BetterWorks for Apple Watch helps employers motivate employees to achieve common goals by keeping them current on progress with key performance indicators.
TaskRay
TaskRay, developed by Bracket Labs, helps managers monitor project progress and check off items on their to-do lists. The app also lets them speak voice memos into the watch, which translates their words into text and sends the message into Salesforce.
ContactWorld
ContactWorld, from NewVoiceMedia, Helps users prioritize incoming calls by combining caller ID with Salesforce data. Wearers will know, by looking at their watch, who is calling and their relevance to the business.
Vlocity Wear
Vlocity Wear, built by Vlocity, Provides users with customer data and notes so that they can perform tasks like starting a new order or sending a bill.
FieldExpert
As its name suggests, FieldExpert by ClickSoftware is designed to help more mobile employees stay organized by enabling them to view their schedules, coordinate agendas for field teams, and add follow-up appointments if necessary.
