Save Time in Linux Terminal With TAB Key

Here's how to use the TAB key to your advantage when working with the Linux command line.

When typing in the Linux command line, just use TAB to autocomplete commands, filenames or folder names. Simply start typing. When you're ready press Tab.

This is intuitive. The more you type, the more accurate the results will be.

Here I typed: cd Dow

Hit [TAB]
