In a joint, "first of its kind" alliance, telecom carrier Tata Docomo has released its first co-branded mobile phone with Yahoo and Alcatel.

The OneTouch Net from Alcatel comes preloaded with Yahoo services and features a QWERTY keyboard and an optical trackpad for navigation, communication, and internet services. It has a resolution of 240x320 pixels, a 2.4-inch display, 80 MB of memory, a microSD card slot that supports up to 8 GB, a 2-megapixel camera with digital zoom, an MP3 player, FM radio, and Bluetooth. The device supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE networks.

"The OneTouch Net is an affordable solution targeted at the digital youth who want to stay connected to the internet and information services on their mobile phones,'' said Deepak Gulati, president of GMS and 3G at the Indian-based Tata Teleservices, in a statement. "Partnering with Yahoo and Alcatel puts us in a unique position as we offer Yahoo's industry leading services on the go, bundled with a one-touch access to Tata Docomo's Dive In portal and the Yahoo homepage."

Customers will be able to utilize Tata Docomo's branded Dive In portal services through single-touch access. With a single sign-in, users can access Yahoo's mail, messenger, contacts, calendar, homepage, news, search, and social networking, as well as upload photos to Flickr. OneTouch Net will also offer access to Tata Docomo services such as My Song, Call Me Tunes, and Buddy Chat using customized keys on the handset.

OneTouch Net retails for about $100 and is available in India. It comes in two color schemes -- white and lavender or black and silver. The device is bundled with a charger, standard battery, earphone, USB cable, and 4GB memory card.

Tata Docomo is Tata Teleservices's telecom service on the GSM platform, which grew out of the Tata Group's alliance with Japanese telecom major NTT Docomo in November 2008.
