BoxTone Starts Price War For MDM Tools

BoxTone lures new customers to its mobile device management tools with an introductory price of 99 cents per user per month. The company claims it's the lowest MDM subscription rate in an industry that includes the likes of MobileIron and familiar names such as Symantec and McAfee.

BoxTone Tuesday announced discounted pricing for new subscribers of its mobile device management system. From now until the end of September, the monthly subscription to BoxTone's MDM platform is 99 cents per device for a minimum 1,000 licenses.

The fully automated platform includes mobility dashboards and reports, security management, policy management with active directory integration, configuration and change management, and compliance management.

BoxTone CMO Brian Reed said in a statement that "we have added this promotional offer to help enterprises and government agencies more cost-effectively speed adoption of managed mobile devices to achieve 100 percent penetration."

The fire sale stands out in the crowded field of MDM products. Just a year ago MobileIron, one of the leading players, charged $4 a seat. Other companies offering MDM products include Zenprise, Symantec, McAfee, SAP, RIM, and IBM.
