IT outsourcing company Computer Sciences Corp. says it has won a $342 million deal to provide a range of computing services to Malaysia's largest banking company.
Under the 10-year deal, CSC will manage mainframe, server, and desktop computers for Singapore-based Malayan Banking Berhad (Maybank) and also will provide the bank with help-desk support. Part of the agreement calls for about 320 Maybank employees to transfer to CSC. The outsourcing of its infrastructure management is Maybank's second major IT initiative this month. Last week, the bank's trust division unveiled its mFund online customer-service system. The Web-based systems let customers log in and view all of their financial data in a single glance. The system was developed by software company Datacons Asia Pacific. With annual services revenue of more than $10 billion, CSC is the nation's fourth-largest IT outsourcing company.
