Modern mobility means different forms of transport
One way for Ford to become the Ford Mobility Company is to combine the family car with another form of transport. It would be a great benefit to park the car at the city line and take a smaller vehicle down city streets to reach our destinations. With knowledge of both where you are and where you're going, why couldn't such combination transportation be arranged? Bicycles are not always the answer.

Ford and the connected car segment
Of course Ford wants to extend its bases. It understands the need for connected cars and the potential such cars have in the future (maybe in 10 to 15 years) and megacities (that are connected, obviously) need proper maintained and connected transport. Ford Mobility is running to the Cloud for collecting and analyzing data. Seems like people would have IT jobs in Ford after this change takes place, after all.
