More misuse of IT hype??
It might just be me, but it seems like 90% of what they are claiming as "IoT" is really just social media analytics and things that are already taking place without IoT. This just seems like a play at the "yeah, we're hip on the new IT trends, use our services!".

Did I miss something here?

Pitney Bowes is also a IoT Cloud tryout
Pitney Bowes has added its name to the pilot Salesforce IoT Cloud tryout list. It's listening to device battery status and logging a case within Service Cloud if a machine battery is due to fail in x days. It's also monitoring ink levels and creating an opportunity in Sales Cloud to replenish the supply and prevent competitive encroachment.
