re: Hospitals Fall Short On Meaningful Use
I think half of the responding hospitals to the HIMSS survey performing a security risk analysis is a bit low. Without trust in the records and systems, it's going to be difficult to move this whole initiative forward.

re: Hospitals Fall Short On Meaningful Use
ItGs great to see that a number of hospitals are making strides in assuring that electronic health records are used in their respected organization. While a number of hospitals are still working to get up to stage 1, itGs clear that making sure the IT department is ready to protect these records is an integral part of the process.

With the right tools, however, an IT department can quickly assure that only authorized doctors and professionals are accessing specific patient records. Plus, they can assure that these doctors canGt copy any information or share them with another third-party. ItGs an important barrier to keeping records safe and patients happy. And once these solutions are in place, then the doctors, hospitals and patients will all be able to see the true benefits of EHRs.
