Tech Data Wednesday announced that it has signed an agreement with Greenway Medical Technologies to distribute Greenway's PrimeSuite, an integrated electronic health record (EHR) system.

By distributing Greenway's products through its healthcare specialized business unit (SBU), Tech Data said its resellers can help doctors qualify for EHR adoption incentives created by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

"Tech Data now has one of the channel's strongest healthcare IT solutions portfolios," Barb Miller, Tech Data's VP for services, said in a statement. "Since we established our healthcare SBU last fall, we've partnered with new and existing vendors to add the right solutions to our line card so our reseller customers can capitalize on the rising demand for healthcare IT," Miller added.

She also noted that the addition of Greenway further expands Tech Data's EHR and practice management software offering, enabling resellers to select the solutions that best meet healthcare providers' unique needs.

Greenway's PrimeSuite centralizes patient records, clinical tools, billing, reporting, registration, and other medical practice administrative functions in a single database. In addition to the core PrimeSuite platform, Tech Data will distribute specialty applications within Greenway`s PrimeSuite portfolio, including:

-- PrimeExchange, a data exchange application providing interoperability within practices, as well as externally with affiliated healthcare organizations, public health agencies, regional health information exchanges (HIEs), and national health information networks.

-- PrimePatient, a Web portal enabling patients to go online to schedule appointments, fill out paperwork, manage personal medical history, view lab results, pay bills, request prescription refills, and access health education materials.

-- PrimeResearch, a resource that provides doctors with access to a network of clinical trials, pharmaceutical research, and financial benchmarking so healthcare providers can better treat their patients and strengthen operations.

-- PrimeMobile, a tool that allows doctors to remotely access and update patient data housed in Greenway's PrimeSuite database.

-- PrimeRCM, a revenue cycle management solution.

Tee Green, Greenway president and CEO, said in a statement that that the combination of Greenway's healthcare IT solutions with Tech Data's attention to quality and deep distribution channels will help expand Greenway's footprint in the healthcare sector.

"Together we can continue to enhance the recognition and growth Greenway has experienced through initiatives such as the Regional Extension Centers program, and reach every healthcare practitioner desiring to improve population health," Green said.

The agreement allows resellers access to training for their employees on Greenway's solutions, as well as support from Greenway's customer service, which provides pre- and post-sales support.
