What are the InformationWeek IT Excellence Awards?

InformationWeek is thrilled to announce a new partnership with UBM's flagship IT event, Interop ITX, aligning the engaging content, inspirational IT leadership speakers, and expert editorial insight from InformationWeek with the Interop ITX audience.

The InformationWeek IT Excellence Awards will recognize IT leaders and companies that demonstrate outstanding innovation in six different IT categories. The six categories in which InformationWeek will recognize outstanding companies featuring innovative use of IT are:

  • IT Excellence in Infrastructure
  • IT Excellence in Security
  • IT Excellence in Cloud
  • IT Excellence in DevOps
  • IT Excellence in Data & Analytics
  • Overall IT Excellence

Do the InformationWeek IT Excellence Awards replace the InformationWeek Elite 100 and conference?

Yes, the new awards program replaces the InformationWeek Elite 100 rankings. Additionally, InformationWeek will run a two-day IT Leadership Summit at Interop ITX, which will focus on the full spectrum of professional development and IT leadership.

When does the application period open and close?

Submissions begin November 15, 2016, and closes March 3, 2017. In addition, the submission process has been simplified without sacrificing the depth of information that made the Elite 100 rankings a pillar of the IT community for the past three decades. How do I know if my organization qualifies?

Organizations of all sizes and annual revenues, including those in education and government agencies, may participate in the process. For more information about the program, please visit

How are submissions judged?

The criteria used in the selection process are determined by InformationWeek editors. An organization must demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural, and organizational innovation in their award submission.

When will winners be announced?

The winners will be announced online and recognized at Interop ITX – the independent conference for technology leaders. Interop ITX takes place May 15-19, 2017, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Is there a fee to apply?

No, there is no cost associated with submitting an application.

How do I apply?

You obtain a link to the application by emailing us at [email protected].

The application is focused on measuring the strategies and initiatives at the core of business technology innovation. The application can be completed over a period of multiple sessions. Click on the "Save and Continue" link located at the top of the online application to save your progress. An editing link (which will differ from the link included in your original email invitation) will be emailed to you. Bookmark this link in your browser to access your saved application.

All parts of the application must be completed in order to be considered for the 2017 InformationWeek IT Excellence awards.

Will my organization's information be disclosed?

The data is aggregated and individual responses are never disclosed, nor do we disclose individual contact information of participants to third parties or to organizations not directly involved in the InformationWeek IT Excellence awards application.
