Siebel Chooses GoAmerica To Expand Its Wireless Services

Siebel Systems Inc. will use GoAmerica Communications Corp. software to expand its wireless-access services.

To date, Siebel has given customers limited wireless access to its customer-relationship management apps, but will soon give access to E-business apps such as Siebel Sales, Siebel Field Service, Siebel Financial Services, Siebel ePharma, and Siebel eAutomotive. Bundled with GoAmerica's Go.Web service, the new service package will also let mobile customers access data residing behind their own corporate firewalls, send and receive E-mail, and browse the Web.

Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney says Siebel won't depend solely on consumer-oriented GoAmerica for wireless services. Companies such as Broadbeam Corp. are better long-term bets for Siebel because of their experience in supporting wireless services for businesses.
