Video Phones Close But Far Away



You no longer have to be a movie superspy to own a video phone. Last week, Japan's KDDI Corp. said its new Toshiba A5301T handset with built-in camera will let users record, send, and view video clips. This week, Samsung Electronics rolls out the SCH-V300, a phone capable of playing streaming video over third-generation wireless networks in South Korea. Farpoint Group analyst Craig Mathias says these services should appear in the United States within a couple of years.
