Version 4 of the suite integrates planning, tracking and project administration features with business intelligence tools from Panopticon. The new software enables businesses to monitor through a single display project performance, status, trends and risks, based on data drawn from corporate applications. Alerts can be set up to warn of problems that could affect projects.
Deltek has traditionally operated in the financial services market. Vision 4, however, is expected to expand its reach further into engineering and architecture firms, IT services companies and management consulting firms, officials with the Herndon, Va.-based, company said.
Deltek Vision 4 also introduces a Mobile Applications Suite that allows field workers to collect and submit project data easier than before. With the new software, project managers and consultants can work offline or from their wireless PDAs and smart phones, contributing to project reports by inputting time, expense data and other information.
