Does Java Still Have Juice?

Research shows acceptance of the language remains half-hearted
Java may have achieved the largest developer following in the shortest time period of any predecessor computer language, but it isn't necessarily lighting fires in the IT community today. Recent research from InformationWeek shows a fairly lukewarm embrace of the language, with fewer than half the 300 business-technology managers surveyed planning on developing Java-based enterprise applications this year. The research also finds that large companies are more likely to deploy such projects over their small and medium-sized counterparts.
