Altosoft Unveils Business Optimization Suite

Altosoft's upcoming operational business intelligence product uses data drawn from business processes.

Altosoft on Monday plans to launch an operational business intelligence product that's capable of performing predictive analysis of events as they occur based on historical and real-time data.

Altosoft Insight is comprised of modules, so companies can license only what they need. Options range from basic dashboards to advanced workflow-driven software that can predict operational changes to a business based on events.

The operational business intelligence suite can automatically discover and then monitor business processes, whether they are executed through message-oriented middleware, application servers, or through database transactions, Scott Opitz, chief executive of the Newton Square, Pa., company said. The software uses adapters to draw the real-time data, which is combined with historic data. The product does not need a data warehouse to aggregate data.

Insight performs predictive process analytics through a continuous simulation approach that takes the state of the business at a given time in order to determine the impact of an event. The software provides incident management through a workflow-based alerting and tracking system, which notifies employees of events and their potential effect on business operations.

The new product includes a non-coding dashboard server that supports user-definable, role-based dashboards through a browser-based, drag-and-drop design. The dashboard can be customized for handling alerts. Insight resources also can be accessed through Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

Altosoft Insight is available as of Monday. Pricing ranges from $75,000 to $300,000, depending on the modules selected.
