Actional Ships Upgrade Of Web Services Tools

Actional launches an upgrade of its web-services management platform that extends the tools' abilities to see more components of a service-oriented architecture.
Actional on Monday launched an upgrade of its web-services management platform that extends the tools' abilities to see more components of a service-oriented architecture.

Version 5.5 of SOAPstation provides deeper visibility within an SOA through "ghost agents," which extends the product beyond SOAP and XML applications. The upgrade can monitor services that support JDBC RMI, EJB, and JMS; as well as JBoss, Systinet, Sarvega and Reactivity services. Ghost agents' size is small enough so it does not affect processing cycles, officials with the Mountain View, Calif.-company, said.

In addition, SOAPstation can track transactions across software clusters, including multiple application instances inside a CPU, blade servers or separate boxes.

Along with SOAPstation, Actional also upgraded to version 5.5 Looking Glass, giving the tool better overall service-level agreement tracking through improvements in exception notification and automated responses.

SOAPstation and Looking Glass are currently available.
